YouTube Obsession

On occasion I rant about the bullshit that YouTube pushes to my feed.

I have never once watched CK content on YouTube. Well, now of course I’ve seen Pootie Tang but I have never searched Louis CK on anything, not even Google. This isn’t even out of any of the social justice stuff, I just don’t think he’s funny. He’s got that fake ass Woody Allen “comedy” thing going on where he pretends he thinks he’s a piece of shit.

Anyway who woke up and was like, I think we need Louis CK back? More elder millennials are getting in control of the Netflix line-up and they need it to feel like 2010 again: Syndicated episodes of How I met Your Mother were on TV, they lived with 5 roommates, had an indoor couch on their patio and it was the the last time they ever smoked a cigarette.

We really want it to be the mid-aughts again but Instead of killing Instagram and outlawing camera phones they just want to resurrect a beloved IP. Beloved, but undeniably dead in this post minions world. Zendaya can take a nap too.

Oh Jesus, where even to begin with this. Advertising for a major cellphone company in full Dr. Evil drag in 2026. Times must be tough in Hollywood. Do these people ever retire? Weird AI-ish vibes emanating from this thumbnail or it might be overly botox’d.

First off fuck Pat McAfee because he keeps having legendary idiots like Aaron Rodgers on his show to spout some anti-intellectual bullshit. Oh and he also interviewed the gayest president of all time on a sports show. DJT does not care about sports in the slightest (Barring golf) and would much rather talk about Broadway musicals.

Anyway, there’s no way in hell these foreigners “love” the united states. Only in the way that people can “love” a zoo.

Just shoot me in the fucking head.

I used to believe that no feed is an island so I would acknowledge that something about my viewing habits tells the algo that I want to see this shit (I wish I knew what…if your eye causes you to sin and all that). But I no longer believe that, how could I? Nothing about my life reflects this bs.

Playing

Steam Next Fest is here! It’s a blessing and a curse. Blessing because I get to try all these games that I someday want to play and a curse because I hardly ever end up even trying the demos because there are so many.

This year however, I decided to challenge myself by streaming every demo I play. A little more fun than reading menus by myself in my hot apartment. Now I get to vocalize my rambling incoherent internal dialog and do my shitty British accents for yall.

Anyway, I’m having fun and it’d be cool to hang out with yall while I play games badly so stop by!

Listening

As teen who drank a lot I really loved depressing music: Elliott Smith and Bright Eyes more specifically.

A common denominator? Let’s just say they are both… verbose. Lyrically corny? Maybe but as a kid these lyrics really struck deep.

A few weeks ago I was visiting my parents and we were talking about their record collection growing and I was reminded of an album I’d not thought of in decades at this point.

Ain’t nothing new under the sun. From this album you can draw a line directly to Bright Eyes and Smith. It’s wild because I have heard this album a hundred times before with my Dad and I never made the connection before that visit. Comforting and bizarre to know that I am just another man who has his parents tabernacled within him.

Anyway, great album.
